Cuando tú quieras. Incluso en Navidad hay peregrinos.
"When does the Camino de Santiago start?" - Whenever you want. Even during Christmas, there are pilgrims.
¿Dónde comienza?
Puedes salir de tu casa y empezar a andar hacia Santiago. Si vives lejos, puedes empezar en uno de estos tres lugares, que son los más populares:
"Where does it begin?" - You can leave your house and start walking towards Santiago, but if you live far away, you can start from one of these three places:
El Camino de Santiago nació en la Edad Media, cuando los cristianos de toda Europa pensaban que visitar los restos del apóstol Santiago mejoraría sus vidas. The Camino originated in the Middle Ages when Christians from all over Europe believed that visiting the remains of the apostle Saint James would help improve their lives. These Christians would leave their homes and start walking because, in the Middle Ages, there were no cars to take them to Sarria or Porto and start walking from there.
*¿Kilómetros o millas? ¿Te has dado cuenta de he usado Km y millas? Es una medida usada en EEUU. Ahora que vivo en San Francisco, soy más consciente de lo difícil que es convertir distancias continuamente.
Did you notice that I used km and miles? It's a measure commonly used in the United States. Now that I live in San Francisco, I am more aware of how challenging it is to consistently convert distances.
